Vintage Copeland Grosvenor Cobalt & Gilt Plate
Bailey, Banks, & Biddle of Philadelphia retailed this stunning English 9.25 inch plate. The maker, as written on the back of the plate, was "Copeland, Grosvenor China, England." The plate is edged with a fine gilt border containing a chain of diamonds. Inside the gilt edging is a wide cobalt border with three floral cartouches, alternating with three flower centered decorations. The central floral spray in rose, blue, red, pink, purple, and green is on a cream background framed with a scalloped gilt band. The plate is in beautiful condition, no chips, hairlines, or repairs - only a couple of very tiny flecks on the gilt edge.
