BEAUTIFUL 19th C. COPELAND SPODE 9" LOW PEDESTAL CAKE / DESSERT STAND, c. 1880

THIS LISTING IS FOR A STUNNING 19th CENTURY COPELAND SPODE LOW PEDESTAL CAKE/DESSERT STAND, c. 1880.
This lovely stand is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
The pattern is unidentified although the stand features a very attractive cherry red hand painted floral and foliage design embellished with gilding. The outer border of the plate area is widely scalloped in four sections with ribbing at the lowest point of the scallop and a textured relief band encircles the center design. The entire design is in shades of cherry red with 22K gold embellishing.
The underside of the plate area is decorated with a similar design which is also found on the bottom of the low scalloped pedestal. The paneled pedestal is also ribbed and painted in the same colors.
This gorgeous cake stand is marked in teal/green with the Copeland Spode trademark used from 1875-1890.
Measures 2 1/4" high, 9" in diameter with a 4 5/8" diameter base. Weigh 1.3 pounds.
Please note that we also have a matching cake stand in a taller version. This cake stand would have been part of a larger dessert set in this pattern.
